Another day at Eagle Rock
Does anyone else feel as if they need to put on a happy face, step up, do their duty, and just get through the day? I have been on an "up" for a while now, and I think my problem lately is that I am not cut out for living in the Northern Hemisphere. I need light!! I need sun, warmth, flipflops!!
Winter sucks. Those people who say.,"oh I just love it when the weather turns cold!" What rubbish. Cold means higher heat bills, cold feet, flannel pajamas and less work. Cold means hibernation and fat accumulation around my middle from the banana bread and fudge my daughter insists on making. Mind you, I am not supposed to EAT those things, but how can I NOT!

So, I dropped some stitches in the Fair Isle hat I am knitting. sigh. I am NOT good at picking up knitting stitches and I don't know why in the world I didn't get out the little caps that fit on the ends of my DP needles and use them. Brother.
This hat is going to be pretty cute, I think. I'll have to take a picture of it after its finished, and both girls have laid claim. EJ will probably get it...but EB is a strong contender.

And another thing....How can people have 10 or 11 darling little Scotties and not groom them? I mean, I know its not cheap, but what the heck? They treat them like cattle...not that they have no place to run, cuz they do. But seems to me that when you have a dog with that sparkling personality and draw, you would do it justice and not just breed them to pay the bills. ah well....cute little buggers! I got to hold one of the 2 week old puppies....you KNOW what I got when I got home and Captn' Jak sat on my lap! He was very interested in that puppy breath that was left over from the nuzzling little black ball of cuteness. Anyone want one? He said they are 300 EACH! Good grief.

Yay for money on my card today! I'm going grocery shopping and I'm excited to do it! Gotta get out the menu book and make my grocery list. I think I will do the black bean Caribbean chicken crock pot thing. I love that and the girls like it, too. Lets see...what else? I have some salmon in the freezer, so I can make that great salmon recipe...I hate working with hamburger, but I need some recipes that I can eat for variety. Guess Ill get on Allrecipes.com and see if there is anything new this morning.
